At Christmas we are celebrating the fulfillment of a promise that had been made for thousands of years. A large number of good things are wrapped up in that perfect gift of Jesus. Ephesians 1:3 says that every spiritual blessing has been given us in Christ Jesus. Second Peter 1:3 says that God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness through Christ Jesus. That includes abundance, healing, favor, wisdom, the promise of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:3-14 tells the purpose of the Christmas story. In Jesus we see a life that reveals (for the first time) to man the heart, character, way and attitude of the Father. Jesus is the express image of the Father. Jesus says if you've seen me, you've seen the Father. We someone who has taken away the sin problem, the law problem, the knowledge of good and evil problem. Through Him the righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled for us. His life provided reconciliation between God and man. He came for us to have life, and life abundantly. We will never be alone. It is the Father's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. What we couldn't do, a Gift was given to do it for us. Praise God for His unspeakable gift.
