Automatic vs Manual Life
Show Notes
In Mark 4:26 Jesus is telling how it is with the Kingdom of God. "For the earth yields crops by itself, first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head." This is the parable of the growing seed. Everything you need is already there. The fruit of the Spirit is automatic. When you don't know that, you go up into your head and try to work it yourself. Your flesh wants to produce what you need for yourself. Like an automatic washing machine, trusting God makes life simpler, easier whereas thinking its all on you is like trying to manually wash all your clothes, working your own righteousness. In Romans 10:1, Paul is talking about the Jews and how much he wants them to be saved. "They have a zeal for God, but they don't know God." Law and rules are for those not led by the Holy Spirit. With the knowledge of good and evil, we are left to be our own protection, to provide for ourselves, to produce our own fruit of the spirit. Paul says, "being ignorant of God's righteousness, they seek to establish their own." It's so much better to yield to God and watch the automatic fruit happen. Support the show
