Without God it is impossible to please God (see Hebrews 11). Faith means to be persuaded or convinced. Are we convinced that God is good, that God loves you without condition and that God cares? In the Bible, the overall picture we see is of God's grace, goodness and love. But what about scriptures that seem to say the opposite? In Isaiah 45:7 it appears to say that God created darkness and evil. These soundbites can erode our faith and keep us questioning the truth about how God sees us and feels towards us. How do we reconcile these soundbites to the rest of the Word that assures us of the opposite? 1 John 1:5 says that God is light and in him there is no darkness. Contradiction? Or is there specific reason/context for each book in the Bible? And if we study it out, will it confirm what thrills our heart to know is true?
